Student Life
One way to immerse your self in the Kiwi culture and make new friends is to live amongst Kiwi students. At Palmerston North, you have a range of quality housing and living options to choose from, including on-campus, catered Halls of Residence and university managed Flats or off-campus, self-catered Apartments. Students enjoy the social environment and recreational events organized between the Massey housing facilities. Accommodation is within a short distance from central campus and guaranteed to international students.
Massey provides students with a range of indoor and outdoor recreational, cultural and leisure programs through the Recreation and Student Association Centers. Campus facilities include: circuit and cardio training rooms; squash, basketball and volleyball courts; climbing wall; dance room; as well as playing fields for rugby, soccer and hockey. Students at the Palmerston North campus love the Massey Alpine club which organizes rock and ice-climbing trips, cheap ski-lodging at Mt Ruapehu, and more…
The international student orientation is compulsory to all new students and is a great way to be introduced to life in New Zealand such as a BBQ and formal dinner, enjoy guest speakers, check course enrolments, and find out anything you need to know about services and support available on campus. Various optional activities organized by the Student Association include live concerts, sports days, a Bizarre Ball, a Toga Party, Drive in Movies and city tours.
